The Service

Get Your Roots (“we,” “us”) provides genealogical research reports. When you purchase a report, we search publicly available genealogy databases on your behalf and deliver a PDF report summarizing our findings to your email address.

What You Get

For a one-time payment of $29, you receive:

• A PDF family history report delivered by email
• A GEDCOM file for import into genealogy software (Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage)

Reports are typically delivered within 24 hours of submitting your family details.

Research Limitations

Our research is based on publicly available online databases. Results vary depending on the availability of records for your family’s geographic region, time period, and surname.

We do not guarantee:

• A specific number of ancestors found
• A specific number of generations traced
• 100% accuracy — all findings are cited with sources and marked with confidence levels

We search free, publicly accessible databases only. We do not access subscription-only databases (such as Ancestry.com) or restricted government records on your behalf.

Refund Policy

If we are unable to extend your family tree by at least 2 generations beyond the information you provide, you are entitled to a full refund. To request a refund, email hello@getyourroots.com within 14 days of receiving your report.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about your family to the best of your knowledge
• Do not submit information about living individuals without their consent
• Use the report for personal, non-commercial purposes

Intellectual Property

The report we generate for you is yours to keep, share, and print. You own the content of your family history report. We retain no rights to your report after delivery.

Limitation of Liability

Get Your Roots provides genealogical research as an informational service. We are not liable for decisions made based on the information in our reports. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service ($29).

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL.
