What We Collect

When you use Get Your Roots, we collect the information you provide to us:

• Your name and email address
• Ancestor information you submit (names, dates, locations, family notes)
• Documents you upload (photos, certificates, letters)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)

How We Use It

We use your information solely to:

• Research your family history across public genealogy databases
• Generate and deliver your family history report
• Send you order confirmations and your completed report
• Respond to your questions or support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Deletion

Your family research data (ancestor information, uploaded documents, and generated reports) is stored securely and deleted 30 days after delivery of your report. After deletion, we retain only your email address and order record for accounting purposes.

You may request immediate deletion of all your data at any time by emailing us.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate:

• Stripe for payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Cloudflare for file storage (uploaded documents and generated reports).
• Resend for transactional email delivery.

We search public genealogy databases (Find a Grave, FamilySearch, WikiTree, and others) on your behalf. We do not share your personal information with these databases.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics, or advertising pixels. We use only essential cookies required for the site to function.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
